Cheap NFL Jerseys China PNCR

By Abena Rockcliffe The People’s National Congress/Reform (PNCR) has labeled the state of affairs at President’s College (PC) disgraceful; and has called for the government to put all politics aside and resuscitate the school. The party sent out a statement to the effect that it is horrified at the state of “neglect and disrepair” of one of Guyana’s top secondary institutions. The President’s College pavilion has been left to deteriorate. Both PC and the PNCR were founded by the late President Linden Forbes Sampson Burnham.PNCR’s statement highlighted the party’s call for the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) and the Minister of Education to “stop playing the backward politics of spitefulness with the education of our children and get about the business of resuscitating President’s College by giving it the resources (human and financial) that it needs to fulfil its enlightened educational mandate.”Over the past few weeks, privy to some details about the “depressed” state of PC,Cheap NFL Jerseys, Kaieteur News carried out extensive research and investigations on the school’s premises and through persons with connections to the school. The information received indicated that PC has suffered both an academic decline as well as being rundown. It was also discovered that for almost two years now the school has been operating without a board. The farm that was once thriving now has just a few animals. The school has little or no funding and this publication understands that little is being done to save the sinking ship.In the PNCR’s statement,Cheap NFL Jerseys, the party said that published reports and its own observations have revealed that the institution, located at Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara, is falling apart and in a deplorable state of disrepair. The party pointed out that this situation exists less than two weeks before school is scheduled to reopen for the 2013 – 2014 school year.“It is disgraceful,Cheap Authentic Jerseys, and a reflection of the approach to education by the People’s Progressive Party/Civic that the Minister of Education allows this premier school of excellence to show such signs of neglect and abandonment just as Guyana prepares to observe Education Month 2013. President’s College was one of the projects and schools built to elevate the development of education in Guyana. It was intended to institute a culture that would mould, propel and motivate students to become future leaders of our nation. Therefore, it is quite unfortunate that successive PPP Ministers of Education have not recognized the importance of investing time and resources to promote the concept which inspired the creation of Presidents College,” were the views reflected by the PNC.“Is the reason for the neglect of President’s College because it was the brainchild of the PNCR Founder Leader, President Linden Forbes Sampson Burnham? The PPP/C has used the state controlled media to boast about their Government’s accomplishments in the education sector. What is not highlighted and given prominence,Cheap NFL Jerseys China, however, is the rundown and neglected school buildings that are ill-equipped, outdated and unsuitable for training the next generation of scientist, mathematicians,Wholesale NFL Jerseys, engineers, business-leaders and agriculturists. The absence of laboratories for science and information technology; the poorly constructed and maintained sanitary blocks with no running water; the low  teachers to students ratio which result in large class room populations that make  learning, for some, not only a challenge but, in many cases,Cheap NFL Jerseys China, impossible.”The PNCR said that there was a glimmer of hope that there would have been some difference in the way President’s College is administered with the appointment of a new young Education Minister, “but sadly her Administration has demonstrated the depths of PPP spitefulness and determination to destroy, regardless of the consequences for the education of the children of Guyana, President’s College, simply because it was a “Burnham” led initiative.”During Kaieteur News’ investigations, the publication was told that “the government wants to change the purpose of the school. It was said that “PC was better when it was the way Burnham intended it to be.”Students used to be selected from the top two percent of candidates in the Secondary School Entrance Examination (SSEE) and subjected to an evaluation process including interviews with school personnel. Now students are allowed to transfer into President’s College and preference is given to those from more remote areas. The school allows students to attend without being residential, thereby functioning as a boarding and a day school.
